If you or someone you love has ever needed support in a difficult moment, knowing where to turn makes all the difference. In Sioux Falls and across South Dakota, the Helpline Center has been that lifeline for decades.
Dakota Vascular is proud to sponsor the Helpline Center’s Step Forward to Prevent Suicide walk on June 6 in Sioux Falls, one of the organization’s largest fundraising events of the year. It is one more way we aim to show up for the community we serve.
The Helpline Center provides free, confidential services around the clock to anyone in South Dakota. Through the 211 Helpline, residents can connect with local community resources for a wide range of needs. Through the 988 Lifeline, anyone experiencing a mental health crisis or emotional distress can reach a trained counselor any time of day or night.
The organization also offers suicide loss survivor services, mental health trainings, and awareness materials, all available at no cost to individuals, organizations, and communities across the state.
These resources are not limited to Dakota Vascular patients. They are for every South Dakotan.
At Dakota Vascular, we treat vascular conditions, but we care for people. And caring for people means recognizing that physical health does not exist in isolation. The stress and uncertainty that come with a serious diagnosis can weigh heavily on patients and their families. Emotional well-being matters just as much as the condition we are treating.
By supporting the Helpline Center, we hope to make it easier for our patients, our staff, and our neighbors to know that help is available, close to home, and free.
“When local organizations like Dakota Vascular amplify the work we do, it means more people know they have somewhere to turn in their most difficult moments. That visibility saves lives.”— Helpline Center Leadership |
Beyond our sponsorship of the June 6 walk, Dakota Vascular will display Helpline Center materials in our clinics and make sure our front desk and care coordination staff are informed about available resources and referral pathways. We will also look for opportunities to promote awareness of the Helpline Center’s services throughout the year.
We believe that strong communities are built on care, access, and connection. Supporting the Helpline Center is part of how we put that belief into practice.
If you or someone you know needs support, please reach out. The Helpline Center is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
